Well how do they stack up by the numbers you ask? I broke down a few of the numbers for a few players and the teams and here is what we have.
The Jazz and Spurs split season series 2-2, with both teams winning on their home courts.
In those 4 games the numbers for the Jazz were: 42% FG, 35% 3-PT, 89-121 73.5% FT, 89 PPG, 43.25 RPG, 19.5 Assists Per Game, 13.5 Turnovers a game.
For the Spurs: 46% FG, 36% 3-PT, 70-94 74% FT, 94 PPG, 38 RPG, 19 Assists Per Game, 12.5 Turnovers a game.
The Jazz players numbers played out like this: Kirilenko: 10-35 29% FG, 2-6 33% 3PT, 7 RPG, 8.75 PPG
Boozer: 20-41 48% FG, 11 RPG, 16.6 PPG (He only played in 3 out of the 4 games)
Okur: 23-39 58% FG, 5-15 33% 3PT, 6.25 RPG, 16.75 PPG
Williams: 23-50 46% FG, 7-13 53% 3PT, 3.25 RPG, 5.75 APG, 15.75 PPG
Fisher: 11-33 33% FG, 2-7 28.5% 3PT, 3.5 APG, 9 PPG Giricek: 8-24 33% FG, 1-7 14% 3PT, 5.25 PPG
Harpring: 6-17 35% FG, 8 RPG, 8.5 PPG (in 2 of the 4 games)
Of course I didn’t forget Tom’s BOY Millsap: 11-22 50% FG, 4.75 RPG, 8.25 PPG
Now for the Spurs: Bowen: 11-24 46% FG, 8-17 47% 3PT, 2.5 RPG, 7.5 PPG
Duncan: 29-54 53% FG, 11.25 RPG, 21.5 PPG
Horry: 8-16 50% FG, 4-11 36% 3PT, 5 RPG, 5.5 PPG
Parker: 36-62 58% FG, 2-4 50% 3PT, 6.25 APG, 2.5 RPG, 21.5 PPG
Ginobili: 16-37 43% FG, 3-12 25% 3PT, 4.3 RPG, 15.6 PPG ( He only played in 3 out of the 4 games)
So these of course are just a few of the players involved and these are head to head stats in regular season. It’s the Western Conference Finals now and it will be interesting and fun to watch. GO JAZZ!!!!

I just hope the Jazz don’t get jobbed like the Suns did. That series was tainted to say the least. 2 of the 4 Spurs wins came as a result of the Suns being shorthanded as a result of San Antonio (namely Bruce Bowen and Robert Horry) playing dirty.
I don’t think the Jazz are ready to pull off winning a series like this. Not yet, anyway. The Jazz are still pretty young, still inexperienced. This core group is certainly capable of a Championship should they stick together, but it probably won’t be this year.
I have to agree, Tom, both regarding the Spurs cheating and the unlikelihood that such an experienced team could make it to the Finals. Having said that, GO JAZZ!
What a bunch of cry-babies…
