Tom et al.,

I listened to the segment from your archive and it was very informative. Having only read about 2/3 of the Sutherland white paper, I appreciated Mero’s perspective that the Mormon Church was the first and most well-known Utah example of how the Federal Government does a poor job when it comes to nurturing minorities.

I did cringe, though (and kept expecting him to change his statement) when he said that if a Utah town is 75% LDS, then LDS values should prevail for the entire community. What?

I don’t buy the argument that being a good mormon = voting for vouchers. But then, I don’t really find the arguments by a politically skewed institution to be in the publics best interest even if they try their hardest to present it as such.

As with anything in life, in order to get more choice, you have to pay more or do it yourself.

Someone help me on this. What is the political term used to describe a person or an organization that ostensibly advocates for a certain position but whose advocacy is designed to harm a certain position?
