I thought I would update you on our progress to change the Utah State Tree. Rep.  Jack Draxler called today and told us that the Natural Resources Committee’s Co-chairman, Rep. Roger Barrus, informed us that our bill is a frivolous bill and will not present it to the committee for a vote or discussion.  It will probably reach the committee at a later date but not at a high priority so it probably will not get to the floor before the end of the session.  We were wondering if you had any contacts that may help us or any suggestions that we can do to encourage this representative that it is not a frivolous bill! 

Thanks for the time and effort that you have put in for us.  The students have learned a lot about this process and want to see it through all the way.
