Huntsman says he’ll hold his own with Legislature – Salt Lake Tribune.
Despite a Legislature that likely will veer away from his budget proposals in favor of far deeper cuts and a Senate president who thinks that alcohol is the root of all evil, Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, Jr. says he will hold his ground on his proposals.
“I think this is just representative of any legislative session. There’s a lot of, as my daughters would say, drama,” he said during taping of his monthly KUED news conference. “I think you’ve seen that we’re holding our ground. We always do. … This is just the normal give-and-take of any session.”
Here’s one hoping that if Waddoups and crew are able to push through any extreme bills, such as the one that would require “bars” like Chilli’s to go through extensive remodels to hide booze, that Huntsman will start vetoing stuff.

HOLLA AT A REAL CONSERVATIVE.
I hope Huntsman is turning a new leaf and no longer afraid of confrontation and even controversy itself. He tends to shy away from both.
Utah needs it’s Executive back. Good luck, Guv.
First his commitment to climate change, now his commitment to ‘drama’ in to form of taking on those ‘waskawee wepublicans’. He is auditioning for a spot in the Obama administration!
(Note: Huntsman is seen as ‘checked-out’ with regard to his job as governor in the Salt Lake political circles/rumor mill.)
I hope that is not true, David, because from what I’m reading from Lockheart (et al) he may be the last thinking conservative on the hill. These alcohol crusades are ridiculous, and waste taxpayer moneys and legislative time.
