We hear about spreading socialism but it would seem the largest wards of the state are the inhabitants of the prison system. The Republican “solution” to crime is to lock them up but they have turned the prison system into a welfare state. The costs of prison with no alternative but a life of crime due to a lifetime record are of Republican making. You want to stop Socialism fix the prison system first.
