Friday, February 27th, I infiltrated was invited to attend as Sutherland President Paul Mero’s date guest the Cache Republican Lincoln Dinner. It was informative and insightful, for those on either side of the political fence curious about the current state and future direction of Utah Republicans. In between my efforts to get Bishop or Bennett to do a plug for the show and stop Sutherland’s Comm Director, Jeff Reynolds, from stealing silverware, I was able to nab some video. Below are the highlights of the speeches by Mero, Lockhart, Weiler, Bennett, Herbert and Bishop (apologies to AG Mark Shurtleff, who’s speech audio was ruined by a very loud cash register in the background). And nice job on your first big event as Chairman, David… I was impressed, if not converted. 
That first speaker is probably the smartest guy I’ve ever heard.
