Since November 2008, meetings with individuals and neighborhood groups in the 10th West (2nd south to 6th south) area, a proposal has been made that UDOT acquire 17 properties, allowing space for necessary lane travel, sidewalks and “buffer zones.”
According to Logan Mayor Randy Watts, of the 17 property owners involved, 14 have expressed a desire to sell, one owner has asked for more information, and of the remaining two, one is in forclosure and the other belongs to an out of state homeowner who has not yet been reached.
The stated goal is to provide a design that doesn’t require expensive “upgrades” just a few years down the road.
We’ll be discussing the announcement and inviting your feedback today at 4:40.
