Subject: Fwd: UDOH Daily Situation Report
To: Utah Media
From: Tom Hudachko, UDOH PIO
Attached is the daily swine flu situation report. Developments of note:
1. Utah now has one “probable” case. A probable case is defined as a flu sample the Public Health Laboratory has been unable to identify and has sent to the CDC for further testing. We expect results back from CDC sometime late Friday. At this point, since the case is “probable” and not “confirmed,” we are not releasing specific information about the patient. Utah residents should continue to take the appropriate precautions to protect themselves and others from illness (see prevention tips in attached document).
2. Strategic National Stockpile supplies have arrived in the state – the first shipment arrived this morning, 12 hours earlier than we had anticipated. I am in the process of making pool arrangements for photos and video.
3. This report, and more information, can be found at www.health.utah.gov/swineflu.
Thanks,
Tom
