Gotta love Twitter.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, apparently mistaking the direct message feature with the @tag in Twitter, sent the Deseret News’ Ben Winslow some messages today that, until Shurtleff deleted them sometime in the 3 p.m. hour, could be seen by anyone.
KVNU’s sources tell us that the messages said something about having an announcement to make later this month. All we have of evidence are Ben Winslow’s replies from his Twitter page.
So, as Ben asked…Did he just announce?
Update: Huge hat tip to Cache Valley alum Aaron Falk for finding and screencapping these from Twitter for the DNews. A. Falk is a true American.

ha ha… i saw the tweets, but didn’t pay attention because:
a. his senate run isn’t really a secret.
b. i was too busy working for it to really register.
c. i don’t really care.
d. all of the above.
yes, this is a multiple choice quiz.
for those of you who may be interested, i went to search.twitter.com and typed in “markshurtleff” and got not much … but then within 4 minutes there were 24 new responses.

I actually captured a screen shot of his accidental announcement – there was a series of about 6 tweets including a listing of some big fundraisers and his tweets that he was going to delete the tweets.
I would not vote for shurtless anymore than I would vote for Hatch – both very liberal-destructive.
Everybody knows Shurtleff leaked this on purpose. He didn’t want Bridgewater stealing the limelight on the Bennett race.
Shurtleff has lost my vote. I agree with Tom, Shurtleff is by far the worst candidate in the race. I hate to admit it, but Bennett is looking better and better every day. Have you caught his fight about interior nominees? Great stuff!
