Rep. Matheson a swing vote on Obama’s climate change bill
With the much-ballyhooed climate change, “Cap-And-Trade” bill in committee right now (with a vote expected any day now), here’s the score: There are 23 Republicans who are going to vote against this (in committee) and about 23 Democrats who are certain to vote for it.
That leaves a few “moderate Democrats” like Rep. Jim Matheson to be pulled like two dogs with a rag toy toward either side to vote.
And Jim Matheson, the Tribune reports, is probably the most influential of those moderates, being the chair of the Blue Dog Energy Task Force.
The Utah Taxpayers Association sent out an e-mail today urging people to contact Matheson on this today, and @Hollyonthehill on Twitter did as well, saying, “: call to action – call Matheson’s office and tell him to VOTE NO on the Waxman/Markey bill. Call now: (202) 225-3011 or (801) 486-1236″
So if you want to wield some influence with Matheson, now’s the time to give him a call, whether you want him to vote no or yes.

I called the DC office and let my voice be heard. No matter how Tyler and Jason may tell the story, I have never supported “cap-and-trade,”

I’ve been calling all week, but that’s just an average week between me and Jim.
And I was there the day you thought Tyler’s description of “cap-and-trade” was a good idea. Witnessed it.

Cap and Trade is just another statist scam out of so many, such as our forefathers warned always have and will challenge and try to take down liberty and it’s partner – capitalism.
Statists just try to skip and jump beyond the real debate (which is no longer a debate anyway, of whether man made global warming is a scam or not). They make their questions go beyond whether it’s real, and more to the effect of how to now deal with the “established fact” of man made global warming. They must go this route rather than even let anyone question if it’s even real in the first palce, which solidly it is not real.
This whole man made climate change scam is so very totalitarian and goes by the old control-freak statist blueprint to the “T.” It’s so Big Brother and communist (forget socialist). Big Brother knows best, knows all – so do not even dare to question or bother showing any of the broad facts and scientific evidence killing the statist man made global warming scam. Hasn’t anyone on the show staff read Orwell’s “Animal Farm” or “Nineteen Eighty Four?” This fits right in tightly.
Any of you guys who chose can support and take snake oil all you want personally, but don’t try to force the whole town to buy it and swallow it with you and make it mandatory. Nor should you prevent the full debate, selectively editing it’s contents for political correctness, as not to offend guests who come on the show. That’s statism. That’s bad for free enterprise and capitalism not to mention free speech and other rights and liberty in general. That’s not “For the people.” It’s great for communism and killing jobs though. Are you listening Mr. Frandsen?
I would personally suggest putting more unfiltered direct statist scam debate into this show, or it will no doubt wither and die slowly and painfully as does anything that is against free trade, free speech and personal liberty.
You can get a good start by using any book such as Mark R. Levin’s book “Liberty and Tyranny” as a starting point for full discussion of liberal (only one type of statist) vs conservatism, rather than the watered down and limited PC stuff we too often see here where certain questions or topics are taboo. You’re in conservative Cache Valley for heck’s sake. Appeal to the people. Actually be “FOR the People.”
Gee, maybe even discuss Cache Valley’s own President Ezra Taft Benson’s views of patriotism vs the new “conservative” anti- constitution “patriotism” of those such as “conservative” republican statists such as FDR Huntstman, Hatch, Shurtleff…
