Last night Salt Lake City unanimously passed nondiscrimination ordinances that protect gay and lesbian residents from workplace and housing discrimination. The LDS Church backed both measures, stating that the ordinances “do no violence” to the institution of marriage, and are “fair and reasonable.” Sutherland Institute’s Jeff Reynolds joins us at the top of our first hour to explain why Sutherland Institute disagrees.
And “double dipping” state employees are in the news, and may be under the microscope of the legislature soon. Should an employee who retires be allowed to then return to the state workforce in a different position? We’d like to hear what you think.
