The thing that I find grodie is the persistent fear-mongering and stupored panic that leads people to say, think and do awful things to the people who don’t agree with them. Many journalists take a holier-than-thou, “what a bunch of idiots” stance regarding people who aren’t afraid of man-made global warming – they even go as far as to call them “deniers”, as if there is some foregone conclusion other than the science behind MMGW is weak at best. This tendency to jump to ridicule unduly is a mark of inaccuracy, I suspect, and it pains me to see such bad ideas attempting to perpetuate themselves by trying to make opposing views uncool.

I used to believe in MMGW, and I was even worried about it at one point. I was interested in the arguments that people on both sides made, so I studied them. I continue to do so, all the time, and I have since learned a few simple facts that have gotten me to where I am today on this issue: 1. We cannot accurately predict the weather within a span of 12 hours, even with the best of the world’s technologies, because there are way, way, WAY too many variables that cannot be relied upon to stay consistent. 2. The proponents of Manmade Global Warming and the fear of it tend to base their science on the predictions of computer models, NONE of which have managed to accurately recreate measurable, provable PAST weather patterns. 3. These same scientists tend to be statisticians to an overwhelming degree, and nearly all vocal proponents of MMGW have benefitted from their position or stand to. 4. The Greenhouse Effect theory does not describe the fullness of climate variation or even come close, not even when limited to only the lower atmosphere, yet this is the sole basis in the argument for absolutely enormous costs to attempt to show change. That so many supposed climate experts fail to address this in common discourse is important to bear in mind and I feel smacks of an agenda. 5. There are far more serious and far more worthy causes about which to pain ourselves that aught to be addressed with a priority much greater than the control of CO2 emissions including but not limited to world hunger, world poverty, and environmental chemical pollution.

What a disgusting and misleading article. A lot of the “facts” stated are not even true. Overall rating: Grodie.
