One military general wants to put a stop to female soldiers getting preggers, and wants to criminally punish moms-to-be as well as the men who impregnate them.
The order comes from General Anthony Cucolo, the top military official in Northern Iraq. He’s prepared to bring criminal charges against soldiers who get pregnant and those men who help it happen.
The General:
“I need every soldier I’ve got, especially since we are facing a drawdown of forces during our mission,”Cucolo wrote. “Anyone who leaves this fight earlier than the expected 12-month deployment creates a burden on their teammates. Anyone who leaves this fight early because they made a personal choice that changed their medical status — or contributes to doing that to another — is not in keeping with a key element of our ethos.”
Interesting dynamic here, eh? In deciding whether we agree or disagree with this stance, we’ve got to choose the right of a human to procreate against the right of the military to not have pregnant soldiers in the line of duty.
Where do you stand? We’ll talk about this coming up at about 5:40 tonight. Listen and join in at http://www.kvnuforthepeople.com/webcam.html

So if you get a base doctor to perform an abortion can you avoid a court martial? Do they have morning after pills next to the condom dispensaries?
