Did anyone else catch Congressman Chaffetz posing some very candid and honest questions to Obama today in the little Republican Pow-Wow today ?
I was rather impressed with Mr. Chaffetz’ rational and candid comments to Obama, calling him out on his failed campaign promises, and expressing honest disappointment. It was a refreshing divergence from the other Republicans who got in front of the mic, VERY aware that the cameras were rolling.
Kudos to Mr. Chaffetz.

I thought it was fairly ballsy, too. I thought there was a lot more he should have been called out on concerning carry over, war on terror policies he spoke out against and campaigned on. Pointed questions without being disrespectful. I’m glad he was confronted on it. I figured Chaffetz had gotten his “list” by listening to Hannity on the way to the Pow-Wow. I’d love to see some unbiased/objective fact-checking on his responses.
But I also think it took just as much (or more) courage for Obama to show up at such a potentially hostile situation, without the teleprompter we’ve been told he can’t function without, and unfiltered through a spokesman. I wasn’t satisfied with all of his answers, but he is not the abject failure/enemy of America I am led to believe by some.
What Tim said (and I’m not sold that Chaffetz wasn’t aware of the cameras, considering his behavior so far).
CSPAN has video of the whole conversation up, and it’s worth watching: http://www.c-spanarchives.org/program/ID/218836
The silence from certain GOP blowhards/demagogues is priceless.
Um, where do Republicans get the right to complain about the Obama administration’s lack of transparency?
I found it amazing that during both of the President’s televised addresses to Congress so far, Rep. Chaffetz found himself a seat directly behind John Boehner. Probably unaware that he’d be on camera…
