Tonight:
I’ll give a snapshot of the second meeting of the GRAMA work group (audio archive) I’m a member of, tasked with making recommendations to the legislature on bringing our open records law into the 21st century. We discussed cost cutting with new technology, and how open records laws effect cities and towns. Your feedback is necessary on this one!
Sen. Hatch and Sen. Lee are pushing a Balanced Budget Amendment. I think it’s a horrible idea on the federal level, but even if I thought is was a smart move, I would be offended at what these two are selling. This piece of legislation is so full of loopholes, it’s little more than a non-binding resolution.
Governor Herbert signed a lot of things, veto’d some things. We’ll recap.
Finally, flood season is upon us. We’ll speak to Weather Service Hydrologist Bryan MnInerney about local flood potential and trouble areas.
