Tonight:
After a long slog, 10th West is opening to the public. We’ll talk about “phase two,” which begins next year, and what the new road will mean for traffic in Logan.
A look at Utah’s highest paid city employees.
Every election cycle some group (in 2008, it was “Third Way) wants to just see more play dates and bipartisanship in our politics. If everyone gets along, everything will be much better! These organizations are there to be mocked and shunned. Usually. Ezra Klein, writing at Bloomberg on Mike Bloomberg’s “No Labels” says this group will surprise you. They have some actual suggestions, like bringing back the real filibuster, up-or-down vote on nominee’s after 90 days, and more. Should we be taking these guys more seriously? I would like to have called today, catching the last 20 minutes or so, but was driving.
Per my views of RP’s views and insinuations that he’s crazy. ( I have not ever been part of his campaign, and am not registered to any party)
- That his views match those of the majority (not all (Alex Hamilton comes to mind)) of the Founding Fathers regarding monetary and international interests, as well as domestic policy, who’s the more crazy? Those who swear oaths of office to support the Constitution and the offices to which they are elected, or RP? Whose voting records most closely match?
- Per alternate (and reputable) views of the official 9/11 history (and there’s lots more if one cares to look);

- Per RP’s view that the US should not have become involved in WW2, here’s a couple of links for you to peruse.

- That he does not support the nation of Israel. Quick Response: why should the US support Israel, or any nation, for that matter? More to the point of the creation of the nation-state of Israel…. If peoples from varied ethnicities/nationalities (largely european, in this case, as pointed out by Helen Thomas) decided to move into an long inhabited land, and force the indigenous peoples there out, by force of arms, is that not an immoral act? Why should a nation formed in such a manner merit our regards, let alone our money?
I like the show context, but there’s an awful lot of you guys arguing minor quibbles, one pretending to be more ‘conservative’ and the other, more ‘left’. Honestly, (please) find someone who can speak like Don from Wyoming, one who intelligently carry a conversation from the independent and/or libertarian point of view without running off at the mouth in religious sectarianism. If my current employ didn’t conflict, I’d apply.
