COHOST BACKGROUND, BIO: Born, raised, and currently reside in Hyrum, UT. I’ve been a news and political junkie since high school, when – as editor of the Mtn. Crest Express – I penned a weekly column with the co-editor titled “Missles and Magnolias.” It was hugely popular. Al Franken envied our wit. I wanted to be the next Bob Woodward. Etc. After high school, I discovered the internet and a strong dislike for Mass Media classes as a Communications/Journalism major at USU. In 2004, I was intrigued by the stories of “bloggers” infiltrating the established political “elite,” and even in some isolated cases making big changes in little ways. In 2005 I launched The SideTrack with two close friends, as well as an all consuming obsession with politics, and working as an activist for political change with new media and technology. Today I write for The SideTrack, KVNU’s For The People, The Utah Amicus, and Dailykos “blogfather” MyDD.com.
POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY: Liberal. I believe government is a tool that, used correctly, can improve our quality of life, and increase our opportunities for happiness. It has nothing better to do.
